Keeping Pet Waste Removal “Green”

DoodyCalls is concerned about keeping our environment cleaner by keeping pet waste off the ground and providing communities and pet owners with environmentally friendly products to pick up after their dogs.

Because making the environment a cleaner and safer place is so important to us we only sell bags that are made from plastics which are oxo-biodegradable.  This means that the plastic is broken down by a two stage process. First it reacts with oxygen to form molecular particles that are water “wettable.” Next these oxidized molecules are biodegraded by microorganisms to become carbon dioxide, and water and biomass. For most plastics this break down process can take centuries. EPI’s TDPA ® additives which are incorporated into the bags accelerate this breakdown so that it occurs over a course of months to a couple of years. Another nice thing about our oxo-biodegradable bags is that they are made from 50% or more recycled materials as well.

California has a specific ASTM  6400  Standard   for biodegradable plastic bags. All bags,(including competitors') labeled "oxo-biodegradable" do not meet the California ASTM 6400 standard.
